Dr. Lesley Acton has worked worldwide for over 25 years as conservator and museum professional, lecturer, researcher, author and public speaker. She is the author of several books on conservation, along with numerous other publications on various aspects of cultural heritage and history.
She holds an MA and PhD in Cultural Heritage Studies from University College London, as well as certification in Adult Education. She specialises in creating and delivering all aspects of collections care for museums and private and corporate institutions, in addition to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) skills for heritage professionals and volunteers.
Other areas of focus include cultural history, urban agriculture, food security & justice and culinary history. Her latest book, Growing space: a history of the allotment movement, was published by Five Leaves on March 16th 2015.
